The Power of Being Present

Hey, what's up, everybody? This is Natalie, business and marketing consultant and personal branding expert.

I've helped scale and grow companies to over $10 million annually, and I'm here to walk you through everything you need to know to bridge the gap between where you are right now and where you want to go. And this is the reality of winning. Have you ever experienced one of those days where you're just like, oh, my God, I've been working so hard.

I've been doing everything that I need to do. I'm no longer shutting. I am consistent, I'm steady, I'm doing all the right things, and I'm getting no results.

I mean, this is probably one of the crappiest places to be.

And I think it's really important that when you're having one of those moments or one of those days, that you can either let those thoughts define you and shape the outcome of what you're doing, or you can go back into reality and understand that it just takes time, right? Everything in life takes time. It takes consistent study action in order to receive our desired outcome.

So if you're somebody who's, you know, starting out on your journey and you're feeling a little overwhelmed, you're feeling frustrated, maybe you had a little emotional breakdown, or, you know, you're feeling like, I just want to hide under the covers and say goodbye to today. I don't know what I'm going to do. You might be struggling financially right now, which is really hard, really frustrating. It's so stressful.

And I totally get it. And I've been there, too.

And I think the most important lesson that I've ever learned through that is that everything that you are right now, today is a result of all of your previous thoughts and actions, right?

So your compounding interest of your previous behavior, your previous thought patterns, everything that you've done previously in your life is creating the reality that you live in today.

Once you become consciously aware that this is reality and, you know, everything I've done up to this point, especially if you're just starting out and you're like a month in, two months in, you just have to really own that and realize that in two months from now, because every single day, you get a little bit better, you get a little bit stronger. You know, your consistency muscles are being flexed regularly.

You're working them out, you're getting better, you're getting closer, you can feel it, but the results just aren't there. It's. It's a shitty place to be in, and I totally Understand and get it.

When you're trying to attract your first 10 paying customers, it can be a really big challenge. You're honestly probably. It's probably the most emotionally draining journey is getting from that one. One point.

And once you nail your first customer, you now have the evidence and confidence to prove that you can also get customer 2 through 10. Right? So you just have to really and okay.

So the number one thing that I do when I feel, like, emotionally exhausted or drained or I start to feel myself kind of drift seen into a previous thought pattern, or I start worrying about the future, where it's like, am I going to make it? Am I going to get those customers? Am I going to do this? Am I going to get that? So you have to really like.

What I do is I tell myself, you are either here now or you are nowhere. And if you can bring yourself back to the present moment and just get into a flow state and start working, it's a really powerful thing.

And you're not worried about who you used to be, any old things that have maybe hindered your progress in the past. You don't fall into an old behavioral pattern. You're not backsliding, you're not giving up. You're not being consistent.

You don't, you know, say, like, whatever, this isn't going to work anyways. I'm never going to make it. And you just stop. And then a week later, you feel better and you're like, all right, let's go. Let's do this. I can do it.

I believe in myself. Right? Like, you have to break that pattern eventually at some point in order to actually get to where you want to go.

So in order to bridge the gap between where you are right now and where you want to go, you have to come to this realization, and you have to realize that you are either here now or you are nowhere.

So, number one thing, as soon as you hear yourself getting down on your, you know, mission and purpose and what you're working on, you have to, have to, have to, have to just tell yourself, be here now, be here now, be here now. Just keep reminding yourself to be here now, because you're either here now or you're nowhere.

And I really feel like I just can't stress this enough because it's so crucial to just live in the present without worrying about the results or the outcome. So let me explain why. If all you do is focus on the fact that, like, am I going to make enough money? Am I going to make enough money?

Oh, I hope I Land a client. I hope I land a client. You are focusing on the fact that you don't have a client.

And your current reality says, I don't have a client, I don't have a client. So how are you supposed to land that client?

And how are you supposed to focus on getting a client when you're too worried about whether you're going to get a client or not? Stressing about something doesn't change the situation. Worrying about something doesn't change the outcome.

You literally just waste time and energy instead of actually just doing the work. And the biggest mistake people are making is procrastinating there.

You know, maybe every single time you feel that way is an emotional trigger for you and you start eating your feelings or you start drinking to forget, or maybe you're just one of those people who wants to avoid the situation and not thinking about it at all. So you turn on Netflix and you watch that all night instead of working on your company.

And those are just things that can't happen and that are stunting your growth and progress. So in order for you to kind of level up and break the cycle, you have to become consciously aware of the cycle and the pattern that you're in.

And that's going to look a little bit different for all of us. We all have our, you know, vices, our crunches, our things that we do that we shouldn't do or whatever that looks like.

So you have to become consciously aware. And then you have to, every single time your brain starts going into that path, be here now. You're either here now or you're nowhere.

Because if you're nowhere and you're inside of your head, you're not making any progress. You're not actually going to do the things that are going to get you the desired outcome that you want. So again, live in the present moment.

Do not let it escape you, and keep focused on what you actually have to get done. When you do the work that is required of you, you will get your desired outcome.

If you just think about the work that you have to do or think about the results that you want, you're not actually doing anything. You're not moving the needle. So you have to actually move the needle every single day in your life. Do the things that are required of you.

Don't should all over your life, because that's not going to get you anywhere either. You have to actively, consistently show up every single day. And it's hard. I mean, the reality of winning is it's hard.

You spend most of Your time battling with yourself, arguing with yourself, and rewiring your brain in order to get a new story.

And I think the story that we're all telling ourselves is always the story you begin to tell yourself when you first start your own company is not the truth, it's not your truth. And it's a story that is basically built in the past, right?

Because the person that got you to where you are today is not the same person that's going to get you to where you want to be tomorrow. So you have to be consistently upgrading to who you are. And this is really tough, right?

Like, just show up every day trying to be better than you are the day before. It can be draining.

But with a little consistency and living in the present moment and reminding yourself to just be here now, you can stack a lot of effort, energy, and time that's going to give you the result. And you're going to have the evidence to prove that you are who you are.

You can do the things you say you can do, and you can attract the people into your life that you want, whether it's a relationship, whether it's the business, whether it's finances, whatever that you're lacking and working towards right now, you can have it. You just got to wait for it and be okay with that. And that is why they tell you to fall in love with the process.

Because the process of uncovering who you are is the only thing that you have to focus on. And, you know, figuring out how to be the best version of yourself matters more than all of the money in the world.

Because how many stories have you heard where, you know, so and so became a millionaire and then they were really unhappy, they lost all their money, and then they. They became a millionaire again, and then they were unhappy and they lost all of their money? Right.

Like, there are certain lessons that those people aren't learning, and maybe one of them is money management.

I'm not sure what's going on behind those closed doors, but what I do know is that I can show up consistently and prevent those things from happening to me by being consciously aware and also by being the very best version of myself and understanding and seeing exactly where I fall short to prevent future problems from happening.

And I think being aware of the problems that could arise and proactively taking the steps required to make sure that those things don't happen, rather than worrying about whether they will or not. Right? It's all about what you do in a day and not what you think about. And that's probably the Most powerful thing ever.

So I think the number one thing I realized is that the more I grew in business, the more I saw where I fell short, the smarter I got, the more I became consciously aware of where I suck. And, you know, just the more levels you beat in life, the more levels you know you have to be.

And the more levels you know you have to beat, the more overwhelming, the more stress, the more anxiety that could be, you know, coming onto you in life. But if you can just focus on living in the present moment, being happy in that moment, enjoying that, then you're actually living your life.

You're not stuck in your mind. You're not worrying about the future. You're not, you know, living in fear or having your emotions rule you.

And, you know, the worst thing about letting your emotions take charge of your life is that you're actually, you're doing yourself such a disservice because when you're living in fear, stress and anxiety, you are no longer living your life. You are reacting to your life. You're, you know, okay, I have to work today.

And then you're just like, okay, I have to do this, this, and this and this. I'm overwhelmed. I'm answering this. I'm doing surface level work.

I'm not doing anything that is actually moving the needle in my life because I'm too stressed out and worried about what's going to happen if I do those things. Then. So you, you create this big, massive story in your mind, but you never actually get anything done.

So you really, really have to go through two different spectrums here and just kind of understand that your brain is designed to give you very two different spectrums, right? So our brain's responsibility is to show us the very best case scenario. Like, if I do this really well, I could be a millionaire.

And then your brain's also responsible for showing you the worst case scenario. Like, you know, I might lose my house, become broke, maybe I'll become an alcoholic and I'll die.

And, you know, there's like this very miserable story and like, worst case scenario. And sometimes it's so funny because I'll just be like, where did this even come from?

Like, I don't even understand how these thoughts pop up into my brain. But it's because Your brain is 100% designed to show you two opposite forms of the spectrum.

The very best possible scenario, the very worst case scenario. When you become consciously aware that your brain is designed to show you all of those things, you do not have to live in fear.

You just have to say, okay, no problem. Let's just do the work that leads me to the positive side of the spectrum and gets me closer to that.

I might not hit a million dollars today, but I do know if I take the actions required for me to get there, I'm one step closer to actually achieving that. And then you're no longer reacting to life. You're living in the present moment because you're either here now or you are nowhere.

So if you feel like you've been stuck, if you keep having those days where you're just like, emotionally drained, you're worried about if you're going to make it, if you're going to get there, just remember your brain's required to show you what's up. You are required to do the work required in order to achieve your desired outcome.
